After her father's disappearance, Cinder leaves home for a servant job at the castle. But it isn't long before her sister Ella is brought to the castle herself. What Ella finds there starts a quest that will change her life and the entire kingdom. Cinder and Ella is a Cinderella story like no other, and one you'll never forget.

This book was cute. It was a "sweet" retelling, but just lacked any sort of action for me. The conflict of the story could have been better thought out and more rounded, and more conflicting. Plus, the end kind of just sucked. I get it, we all want "happy endings" but based on the Prince and his actions, I would have expected and hoped for something more dramatic than what occurred.

Cinder Ella edition by Melissa Lemon Children eBooks Reviews

This book is very enjoyable. There is so much love in this book. Everything about this book is amazing to me. Very beautiful. If you drink water and breath air then you have heard the story of Cinderella. If you drink water and breath air then you have heard it wrong.
I love this book. It was so much fun to read a new take on Cinderella. Melissa Lemon does a wonderful job at captivating the audience early on and doesn't disappoint throughout. I look forward to reading this again, and for my children to read when they are old enough. I love the legend of the trees, such a great idea. I also loved the characters, you really find yourself rooting for them throughout. I am hoping for a sequel in the future. Thank you, Melissa Lemon, for sharing this beautiful tale with us.
...don't waste your money. The author tries hard - and I can see that she is attempting a kind of "allegory" - but to me it seems somewhat the way a HS or middle school student would be expected to write. It is often difficult to follow the narrative and I feel like I must have missed something (and actually went back to re-read a page or two to figure out what I'd missed a couple of times!), but I quickly learned that it was just a confusing writing style. There isn't much character development - even to the point that I was often taken aback when suddenly there were strong feelings expressed by/about a character ... This is a type of book I expected to be a light read and whiz through while in vacation. Instead it has become a chore to read and I still haven't finished it though I'm about 3/4 through. I have been reading it on the app which made it difficult to tell how much was left. Twice now I have expected (hoped) we were finally coming to a conclusion only to have it seemingly begin on another unexpected (& unwelcome) tangent. For the first time I can remember, I WANTED a book to be over rather than wishing it could be longer...! I am frankly surprised this got published - possibly the author "knows someone" who made it happen. Though I dislike being "unkind", I won't apologize for my assessment - I rarely leave reviews at all but felt this one to be a service to others.
Very excited to read this book. Arrived fast
I enjoyed this reworking of an engaging fairy tale. The characters were interesting, the fairy tale had unexpected twists and children (grades 3-7) will enjoy reading it a much as I did (I am adult.)
I dont really know what I was thinking about this reading this book . It looked interesting and I said ok what the heck I would give it a try . Im sorry ,it was good I just wasn't that into this book .
Not one of the better done books I have read. I love fairy tail retellings, especially Cinderella-based stories. This one started out well with good characters, but toward the end, it felt too contrived and forced of an ending. The characters didn't grow. I feel like they just did what they were 'supposed to do' according to Ms. Lemon's original plan. It was a disappointing, unsatisfying finish.
This book was cute. It was a "sweet" retelling, but just lacked any sort of action for me. The conflict of the story could have been better thought out and more rounded, and more conflicting.
